Biobanking Excellence

India's first State-of-the-Art Animal Stem Cell Biobank

Animal Stem Cell Biobank (ASCB) is India's first animal stem cell repository, highlighting the country's pioneering role in biomedical research and regenerative medicine. It is dedicated to the isolation, characterization, cryopreservation, and distribution of animal mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), supporting the growth of India's scientific community and innovation ecosystem. Established under the Department of Biotechnology (DBT) and hosted at the National Institute of Animal Biotechnology (NIAB) in Hyderabad, ASCB is supported by BIRAC as part of India's commitment to advancing animal biotechnology.

Expansion Plans

ASCB is determined to expand its repository to include a broader spectrum of animal stem cells and their derivatives, supporting long-term research and clinical applications across India.
